The reception staff were very accommodating when my sister and her partner, who live in Spain visited. |The location is ideal for restaurants, shops, attractions and the beach. Don’t expect sea views but the rooftop bar and swimming pool give lovely views of the castle. |The bar staff were great and always had time for a chat. We thought the drinks prices were reasonable. |The breakfast was great. One could have a cooked breakfast, buffet, healthy or not. I had both, which probably cancelled out the fruit and muesli. The staff are fabulous,professional,but still manage to be friendly and helpful. We had little treats like chocolates, macaroons & cava to the room for my birthday, which was so thoughtful, making it a special memory. I had a fabulous treatment on the spa, it was fabulous. Our air conditioning was broken for the first 2 days and the hotel did not communicate updates very well. This is the difference between a 4/5 star and a 3 star. Service was okay. Not super friendly. The room layout is kind of strange. You enter the room into the sink and shower area, then through a sliding door to the bed area. The bed was 2 singles pushed together, so falling into the gap was a pain. Not sure what other Alicante hotels are like. Perhaps this is better than most? Also- they could do better advertising that they part of the Marriott family.”
